OUR MISSION

We are a group of individuals, competing for team success in a supportive and competitive environment. Our goal is to improve with each ride, perform to the best of our ability, and represent our team and University through the core values: Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service.

These skills are demonstrated at competitions against other colleges through the National Intercollegiate Ranch & Stock Horse Association (NIRSHA), National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA), and Stock Horse of Texas (SHTX). The team also strives to be active members of the stock horse community as well as ambassadors for Texas A&M’s Animal Science Department.

RANCH TRAIL

Tests the horse’s ability to cope with situations encountered in everyday riding. The horse is ridden through a pattern of obstacles which should nearly approximate those found during the course of everyday work. The horse/rider team is judged on the correctness, efficiency, and pattern accuracy with which the obstacles are navigated. The attitude and mannerisms exhibited by the horse are also taken into account. Judging emphasis is on identifying the well-broke, responsive, well-mannered horse which can correctly navigate the course with a pleasant demeanor.
