TRYOUT INFORMATION
1. First round begins in May. This includes the completion of an information form that is posted on our social media and linked below. This form is due June 15th. Tryouts also require a video of you on a horse doing three specific things: cow work, reining, and either trail or pleasure. An additional video answering team-related questions is also required. Videos must be emailed to Paige Linne (paige.linne@ag.tamu.edu) by July 1st.
- If you are trying out on a personal horse, videos MUST be of that horse.
- If you are trying out for a school horse, it does not matter what horse, and it can be multiple.

2. If you make the second round, you will be invited to Texas A&M to try out in person and interview with current team members. This sport is just as much about you as a person as it is about your talent.
(If you are an out-of-state student, accommodations will be made.)
Please email Paige Linne with further questions.

FAQ
CAN I BRING MY OWN HORSE?
Yes you can! We have many team members that have their personal horse here at Freeman Arena to compete on. If you do not have your own horse, no worries! We have school horses that are utilized in the program as well.
HOW DO TRYOUTS WORK?
There are a few stages in the process of tryouts. The first stage is a form/video tryout due mid June/begging of July. The criteria of the video will be posted prior, usually it is a reining pattern, video of cow work and a some form of ranch riding/pleasure/trail. That is when the first cuts will be made. The second round which begins in August is in-person at A&M. Following that will be an interview with teammates. Follow closely on our Instagram/Facebook to keep up with the latest info regarding tryouts!
DO I NEED SHOW EXPERIENCE?
Not necessarily. Although some of the members have show experience a lot do not. With that being said most of the members have been competing and riding most of their lives whether it is rodeo, breed shows, or even just on the ranch. There are three divisions compete in, Novice, Limited and NonPro each catering to a specific level of rider. But to be the most competitive we can be we do look for youth that have competed in ranch versatility and cow horse events.
